Will Somers, MSW, LSW
Will is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) providing traditional talk therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to adults and adolescents across New Jersey via telehealth. Will graduated from Rutgers University with a master’s in social work and has experience in both crisis intervention work and outpatient psychotherapy. Prior to becoming a social worker, Will obtained his master’s degree in history and became an adjunct professor. Will blends his experience as both an educator and a social worker to meet individuals where they are and to best help them meet their goals.
Will is a self-described “geek” that often incorporates this into his therapeutic approach. He believes that individuals deserve dignity, respect, and that strong therapeutic rapport is a vital component to the therapeutic process. Will is an LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse affirming therapist that strives to find the approach that works best for the individual rather than fitting an individual to an approach.

Will utilizes a person-centered approach that focuses on authenticity. He believes that rapport is a major part of the therapeutic process and strives to meet individuals where they are. Will utilizes humor and a conversational approach to make the therapeutic process more accessible whether you have been in therapy before or are new to the process. Overall, Will works with individuals to find an approach that resonates with them and works best to meet their goals.
